Happy 3rd Birthday little Zack Attack!

Zack CHOSE Mickey Mouse for his birthday cake. I was okay with that because

#1...it was super easy

and

#2...we are going to Disneyland in a few weeks:)

We celebrated Zack's birthday at our family cabin up Hardware Ranch.

Mom forgot to bring candles to the cabin so we had to resort to him "kissing" his cake.

His favorite present was this gun!

We woke up to snow!?! It got me really excited for Christmas...I just need to get Halloween and Thanksgiving over with first...

Daddy brought his rock-climbing gear up to the cabin and the kids LOVED to repel from the top floor of the cabin to the main floor.

Now someone with experience PLEASE tell me...when will this kid grow OUT of his distructive-crazy-busy-terror stage?

We did TONS of JEEPING!

This was my favorite trail. KANE CREEK We drove in and out and up this creek about 50 times. Beautiful ride!

I got scared on this trail and me and the boys decided we would walk up this part. (what you don't see is a HUGE cliff on the other side of the jeep)

The boys loved to throw rocks in any stream or puddle or cliff they could find.

We had to get our wiggles out and climb this sand hill.

Spiderman turned 4!

For his BIRTHDAY we go him the old school Mighty Max toys. Since he got off his binki a few years ago he has LOVED tiny toys. These were PERFECT for him!

Spiderman had his FIRST birthday Party with his little buddies.

They ate cupcakes and ice-cream and opened presents

They played "spiderman. spiderman. goblin."

They played Pin the Spider on the Web!

They colored pictures of Spiderman and played musical pictures. (instead of musical chairs)

And they played Bingo.

We went snowmobiling in Yellowstone for our Valentine's getaway.

The weather was perfect.

My 26th Birthday

Every year my birthday cake request is a store bought white cake with raspberry filling. Yum! my mouth is watering as I type... This year (since my birthday is December 26th) Robert forgot to pre-order me one with the raspberry filling and I just got a white cake.

BUT I still love him to pieces because he asked them to do the writing in raspberry...

(one year he completely forgot to get me a cake and went to a gas station on Christmas in the evening and got me raspberry filled donuts and stacked them up like a cake with candles and all. What a sweetie!)

This year for my birthday he got me a bedroom set and tv!

This year for my birthday I got myself decorations for my new bedroom set!

Fishing at Blackfoot

we went fishing with grandpa and grandma campbell. we fished for 2 days, froze our bums off at night, and only caught 1 fish.

yes, the fishing was pitiful.

on a good note: we saw 4 moose, road on a boat for a few days, ate lots of goodies, spent 2 days away from home and our normal life, and was able to spend some one on one time with my wonderful parents.

Zack's "REAL" birthday was October 6th. We didn't get to celebrate his birthday that day because his birthday present had not arrived yet via Walmart site-to-store. I felt guilty doing nothing on his birthday so we went to lunch with daddy.

Then we took Zack and Payton on a treasure hunt. We gave them baggies and some quarters and we went on a treasure hunt for the fun machines with prizes in them.

The boys had fun looking for toy machines in different stores around Logan.

Well, it is now October 18th and his birthday present FINALLY arrived at Walmart! So, 13 days later, we will get to celebrate his birthday.

Tomorrow that is...

A few weeks ago our little Payton had to go to Primary Children's Hospital and have surgery.

He had a HYDRO CELE.

Payton is terrified of doctors and hospitals.

We had to do something to prepare him for this day.

So...

We bought him a NEW backpack.

We gave him lots of NEW prizes and toys to put in his new backpack.

Daddy let him play with his iphone...A LOT.

We gave him lots of LOVE.

He had lots of prayers directed his way.

The most important and the biggest help he was given was a blessing from his

DADDY.

He was so handsome in his new jammie's...aka (the required hospital gown)

BIG props to the Primary Children's Hospital staff. They were AMAZING with all the kids. They gave Payton his very own "little buddy". This "little buddy" was dressed in a gown just like Payton. The staff gave the kids ALL the doctor tools and let them play with them on their "little buddies".

This idea=BRILLIANT

Payton held the doctors hand and walked away into the operating room without looking back. His surgery was 45 minutes. Then he was in recovery and waking up for another half hour.

He had a ruff time coming out of the anesthesia. But, he just wanted mommy so that was my highlight of this day.

This was his owie a few days after his surgery.

Payton was a brave little boy and we are so proud of him. Thanks for all the prayers that were directed his way. They were answered and he is all better now!

because...

the last time i was on the phone, a certain someone was painting our rug with syrup (couldn't bring it back to life, it now lies in our garbage can).

Our 24th of July

We had a fun, busy, hot, wet, enjoyable weekend in Idaho.

We floated the river a couple time. It wasn't as relaxing as it may look. Several of us hit our bums on a rock at the beginning and learned really quick to keep our bottoms up. We all had fun dodging the rocks and trying to stay on our tubes.

We only had a few minor injuries...sorry to Tom's bum and Audrie's knee:(

Robert wanted to go down the small waterfall.

He got stuck!

It was hilarious:)

When he finally got "unstuck" he kept getting sucked back into the waterfall. It felt like he was in the waterfall for 20 minutes, but he was probably only stuck for 5 minutes.

It was so funny to watch that this HAD to of been the highlight of our trip!

The next day we went to the Weston parade! I didn't get any pictures of the kids getting candy because I must of blinked and the parade was over.

Although the parade was small, the kids got a TON of candy from it. I guess if I had words to describe the Weston, ID parade they would be...

"Short and Sweet".

After the parade we went to the park and the kids played some games and got prizes. Then we went to the baseball field and an airplane came and dropped candy 7 times.

After all the fun Weston festivities we headed to Oneida Narrows reservoir to go on grandpa and grandma's boat.

We saw TONS of fish.

Payton was a little worried at first.

Payton soon realized that it's fun to be on a boat because he could throw his fishing pole in the water and go fishing.

Zack has no fear...

Well, we all had a fun weekend and hope you all got some sun as well:)

Ragnar Relay, Wasatch Back

This was our journey...

Here we are Friday, June 18 just before 10:30am at the starting line. Robert was runner #1 so he started us off. His first run was 8 miles.

Look who Robert is running past...in the black SWAT shirt...

It's Sione from the Biggest Loser! He was at the starting line sending teams off and wishing us all luck! Here is Robert at the end of his 8 mile run. Doesn't he look good?!? This guy is an animal. He seriously is non-stop. He can go FOREVER!!!

Now it's my turn to run. It is 1:00pm and I am getting ready for my 1st run that was 5.1 miles. Words describing this run...HOT. That about sums it up.
Our van (truck) got done running around 4pm and we ate lunch/dinner and rested on the grass at some random grocery store in Eden.

Robert's second run was at 7:30pm and it was 8.5 miles DOWNHILL. He did so good! I was too busy dancing for him everytime he ran past me that I forgot to take pictures of him...opps.

My second run was at 10pm. It was 4.2 miles in the dark.

And YES, we had to wear a head lamp, vest, and a bum light in order to be allowed on the course.

There I am running to my finish. This run was a blast! I felt like I could have ran forever!!!

Saturday, June 19th.

Our vehicle was done around 2am and we were able to sleep (or lay down) in the truck at a school until 6am.

7:00am, here is Robert finishing his last run that was 5 miles.

9:00am,

here I am in the middle of my last run of 4 miles DOWNHILL. I enjoyed this run as well, BUT it was only supposed to be 3.8 miles and they changed it to 4 miles! GRRRRR... and the stinkin last .2 miles was a hill:(

Sounds silly, but after 13.1 miles and to think you are done and to look and see a hill and no finish line...let me NOT tell you the words I was thinking...

4:00pm, our team made it to PARK CITY!

Robert and I were spoiled by Robert's brother and his wife and they let us stay in a condo they had in Park City. After we were done, we were able to go Father's Day shopping, go to a nice dinner, sit in some wonderful hot tubs, and sleep in a BED! Thanks so much Ben and Sherrie!

Thank you mom and dad for babysitting my cute boys for 3 nights and almost 3 days. I think you may be more worn out than us...sorry!

Oh, and with my luck, I broke my toe this morning:( Good thing it was AFTER my race!

I have officially been assigned to a "leg" of the race. Out of 12 runners, 6 per vehicle, I am runner #4 and Robert is runner #1. I will be running the following "legs" of the race:

my first run will be 5.1 miles

my second run 6ish hours later will be 4.2 miles

and my last run 6ish hours later will be 3.8 miles.

Last week I reached a HUGE goal of mine and ran 5 stinkin' miles without stopping in under 1 hour...YEAH ME!!!

Now that I have my distance down, I need to work on multiple runs in 1 day. And, my last run is a steep down hill the whole time, so I will need to start training down hill...oh my poor knees are going to thank me for this.

I'm actually enjoying the running. I mix it up and go by myself, with my family, and with friends. A HUGE thank you to the inventors of the IPOD. It saves my life!

And...I'm working on getting me a shirt made for my race day...tune in later to see it:)

Payton! Payton! We shout with glee!

He just had a birthday, and now he is 3!

He got a jeep bike, monster truck, and some new underwear.

He had a birthday party with his cousins, and played hide-n-seek everywhere.

He was spoiled with playdough, a scooter, and a Lightening McQueen bed.

He got several new "spring" outfits, one blue, one green, and one red.

He said he wanted a football cake, I guess he must be a boy.

Did I mention his favorite present was a buzz and it's an ity bity tiny toy?

He is a joy in our lives and he is tons of fun.

I am the luckiest mom in the world, because I get to call him SON.

Easter at Grandpa and Grandma's

The kids painted Easter eggs while the dads went to priesthood.

The Easter Bunny came!!! Boys got a football, soccer ball, baseballs and bats, movie, kite, and candy.
Easter egg hunt with my cousins and my boys' cousins!

Payton filled his basket in 2 minutes, then he went and traded Zack so he could get more eggs!

MONSTER TRUCK RACING

Every year Grandpa and Grandma Campbell fill 1 BIG Easter egg for each grandchild and it is hidden with the rest of the Easter eggs. This year, they included a monster truck in each grandsons egg. The boys had a blast all day racing their trucks down the driveway!

We also TRIED to listen to conference (unfortunately, all I heard during conference was the screams, laughter, crying, giggling, teasing, fighting, playing, and hollering of the 8 grandkids), grandpa and grandma gave each grandkid a balloon launcher and the kids all had a blast launching balloons all over grandmas house, we enjoyed a great feast after the Easter egg hunt, and we even got to watch a movie while the grandkids were in bed!

Thanks you Easter bunny and Grandpa and Grandma Campbell for making this Easter weekend GREAT!

Wendover, NV

Let me explain...

3 years ago, (before we had children), Robert and I went to Wendover, NV with some friends who took care of our hotel and food. (free vacation!!!) i will admit...we gambled a teeny tiny bit playing blackjack.

for our anniversary this year we had NO plans. we wanted to do something, but didn't want to spend money or travel far. a week before our anniversary (March 25th) we got a letter in the mail from Wendover's casino's. They wanted us back, so they gave us 2 free complimentary nights at one of their hotels PLUS $150 in "free play". So, we decided to take their generous offer.

We could use the $150 "free play" money in slot machines and only keep the WINNINGS off of it. We played the system and cashed out everytime we made money. We played the slot machines (or acted like we knew what we were doing like the rest of the 65 year olds there) and we made $90 dollars!

So, we went to Wendover, NV because of the 2 free nights and made $90 without gambling a dime of our own money!

Not bad!

While we were there, we also enjoyed the pool and hot tubs and of course...the buffet!

My loving husband signed me up for the Ragnar Relay Race in June. I'm not sure how much I have to run yet, but it will be somewhere between 3-8 miles...3 times during the race.

For fun and for my own pleasure/pain, I am going to keep track of how many miles I have ran from today until my race day. (my tracker will be in the right hand column)

Wish me luck, and say your farwells. I have been given 3 months to live by my sweet husband.

I love him, but I don't have to like him right now...

#1 The Book of Mormon

This is the first book I read to start off my day. I have a personal goal to finish it in a couple months. So far, so good!!!

Book #2 Gospel Principles

Since I teach Relief Society monthly, this is a book I read/study from every month. I am currently reading Chapter 6, if you have any teaching suggestions...COMMENT ON MY BLOG!

Book #3 The Lost Symbol

This is an interesting book...this is one of the books I get lost in while my 2 sweet boys take a nap during the day. This book has a few BIG words for me so I really have to concentrate to read it:)

Book #4 Two for the Dough

I LOVE murder mystery type books. yes. I am sick and twisted like that. This is my easy read. It's the kind of book that I can read while my kids are awake and running around me and yelling at me for juice or chocolate milk or yelling at me to put on a movie or yelling at me to play the computer. Yes, this is a book that I try and tune the above yelling out with.

And that's my post for the month! Boys are still sleeping so off I go to book #3.

so I decided to 'experiment' on my own and try molding my own heart shaped cupcakes.

They turned out better with less batter in the cup. I would fill them 1/2 full rather than 3/4 next time around.

mommy got stuck painting the plain white frosting on the cupcakes. daddy wanted to play with the icing gadgets so he worked the red icing. and payton was elated to help with the sprinkles

Payton was eating lunch the other day. This was his first time ever experiencing a simple SLOPPY JOE. He was on his second sandwich when he stopped eating...looked a little closer at the sandwich...noticed a sliver of a tomato and said... "look mommy, my wanwich has an owie".

A little somthin' somethin' for Valentine's

My FIRST/ONLY Valentine's Day decoration...

Valentine's Craft:

I used 1/2 yard RED felt and 3 styrofoam balls. I cut a ton of 2'' circles out of the felt, then I folded the circles in half TWICE. Then I used straight pins to pin them on the balls.

I made 1 ball in 4 hours at my friends with our 4 boys. Then the next evening I made 2, start to finish in a hour while watching a movie with my Valentine:)

Those darn boys don't let me get much done when they're awake...but they are worth it!

I am in LOVE with my friend 'spinach and artichoke dip'. I saw this recipe on Studio 5 and thought to myself...self, you love spinach and artichoke dip AND you love pasta, so JUST DO IT! I proved myself trustworthy because I DID IT and it was YUMMY!

Robert got his Broker license in November! I am very very proud of him. He actually signed up to take his test for a certain date and then the whole week before and during his test he had the lovely SWINE FLU. He must be one smart cookie to accomplish that with the deadly bug. Him and his brother will both be Brokers for Cornerstone Real Estate Professionals in Ogden and Logan, Utah. Our Christmas

Christmas Eve we spent at my parents. We played games, ate amazing meals (lobster tails and steak), played in the snow, guys went shooting, girls cleaned, acted out the nativity, and opened presents.

This year we spent most the time in my parents garage. They had it decorated so cute and it was nice and warm, unless you were bear foot:)
My parents spent months working on each grandkid a locker that they can keep with them forever. They matched each kid up with their personalities PERFECT.

Zack's is red with animal magnets on it to match their playroom.

Payton's is blue with cars and choo choo trains to match the playroom or his car bed.

We stayed at my parents until Santa came and then headed back to our house so we could wake up on Christmas Day at our own home.

Santa brought us to much again. He also started a tradition in the Brown home to bring goodies. Robert was in heaven. If you read this...THANK YOU SANTA!

I don't remember capturing this picture because I don't remember Zack opening any presents. I guess he opened one.

Is over!!! We had a great time. We love all the Cornerstone agents and couldn't ask for a better group to work with. Thanks Robert, Ben, and Sherrie for putting this all together. I think we did a GREAT job.

Las Vegas

To start off our vacation we stayed in Vegas for a few nights. This was our hotel.

Robert SPOILED us.

Then we spent 3 days at Disneyland and California Adventure

I enjoyed conference and got to listen to most the talks while my boys entertained themselves. I can't wait for the talks to be printed in the Ensign so I can read them. I love how different the talks are when you read them from when you hear them. The spirit helps you to hear what you need to hear and so when I read the talks from this conference it will be like I never heard them. Hope you all got to enjoy conference too!

Quick trip to Boise Idaho

For Labor Day Weekend we decided spur of the moment to go to Boise to visit and see my sister's new gorgeous house. When we were there we did a little craft store shopping, went out to eat at a delicious mexican restaurant, went swimming at a huge water park (sorry no pictures taken there, pictures of me in a swimsuit = A VERY BAD IDEA), did more shopping, walked to a fishing pond, and went on a tour of the old Idaho State Prison. Here are a few pictures taken in the prison.

I needed a new profile picture of me for my photography!

The last day we were there my sister and I went winter cloths shopping for our little boys and I came across the cutest "matching" shirts for my little guys. Photo shoot of them in those shirts is currently on my to do list. (I can't wait:)

Black and Orange

Yesterday I was COVERED in BLACK and ORANGE. BLACK from cleaning the canner which my camp chef turned BLACK. While washing and scrubbing the burnt "stuff" off the canner, I looked up to see the disaster I'd created. Did you know, that when you scrub BLACK stuff of a pan, it will SPRAY BLACK particles onto your blinds, counter tops, microwave, stove, cupboards, cloths, face, arms, floor, and ceiling? Then...when you go to clean those millions of BLACK particles, it will make them streak BLACK stuff everywhere causing the color BLACK to take over yourself and your kitchen. ORANGE came from the hundreds of PEACHES that were washed, boiled, cooled, peeled, cut, and bottled. Sorry Robert, I wore one of your blue shirts and it is now decorated and ready for HALLOWEEN:)

I still have a couple hundred peaches to wash, boil, cool, peel, cut, and can. My hands are RAW from yesterday, my floor is still sticky even after a good mop job, BLACK streaks and specs are still everywhere, and my (Roberts:( ) shirt is ruined, hum......maybe those peaches can decorate someone elses kitchen for the holiday. Anybody up for some BLACK and ORANGE in their kitchen?

Dinosaur Park

We went to the dinosaur park in Ogden, Ut with family. We got there around 3:55pm and we stood in line for a few minutes, then when we went to pay they told us it was free that day from 4-8pm! We didn't complain at all:)

Payton got hooked up! This was his second bag of cotton candy that he won. With the help of mom and dad and grandpa he was able to trade in his tickets and get a chuck-e-cheese football, basketball, and hammer.

We got to go to Yellowstone with my sister and her family and my mom and dad. Such a near perfect picture to end our little vacation, the only things missing were Conrad, Mandie, Maycie, and Jaxon. (we missed you guys!)

These three boys would chase the squirrels around our campground into the holes and then wait for them to poke their heads back out.

We got to have a picnic across the street from these elk. (also, this here is our new car due to a small accident that totaled our old car)

Thanks mom and dad for the nice little vacation! We were so glad you could come with us and be troopers in the freezing tents with us. I think our next vacation should be somewhere warmer...BAHAMAS?!?

I woke up with a smile

No pictures...sorry...I wasn't thinking about pictures, I was enjoying the moment.

Today, as most days, Payton woke up before me and he was roaming the house. He's very good to play with his toys and not get into any trouble. He often likes to go in Zack's room and play with him. Today, I heard Zack crying so I forced myself out of bed. I heard little noises in the kitchen so I walked in quietly and slowly. There I found Payton, this is what he had done, and was doing. He had gotton himself on the bar via a bike and got Zack's formula container, then he had opened it and also found a bottle and opened it. He put all the remaining formula in the bottle and put the lid back on both the bottle and formula container. (that's what was done, now this is what I witnessed) Then he grabbed a towel out of the cupboard and wiped up all the powdered mess and put the towel back in the cupboard. He then turned around and saw me, he smiled and grabbed the bottle and ran to Zack saying, "ZACK, bottle, here you go, ZACK bottle... I'm comin".

Moral of the story,
I think my kids may survive without me, my work here is done! Except, Zack appreciated it when I added water to his bottle.

Where have I been?

Where have I been? Nobody asked, nobody cares, but I'm going to blab about it anyways:) We have been busy going to the pool, going 4- wheeling, spending a couple days at Lagoon and Lagoona Beach, couple days at Bear Lake, and most recently Yellowstone! Robert's uncle Bob drove to Utah from Michigan on his Harley with his 21 year old daughter. This is the first time I've met this part of the family. While they were here in Utah, his cousin got in a 4-wheeler accident and had to fly home early leaving her dad alone on his Harley the rest of their trip. So, Robert and I followed his uncle the first couple hundred miles home. We went through Bear Lake, up to Jackson Hole, then into Teton and Yellowstone National Park.

With blue skies it was a beautiful and fun drive...for a minute... once we got into Yellowstone we got poured on. We all think their was a little hail mixed in the rain because it hurt so bad hitting our arms and legs. Then we dried up quickly just to drive into another rain storm. Not so fun...we were freezing, and all the rooms were sold out. So, Robert and I hurried and bought ourselves a souvenir (aka, COATS) and headed home. We started our journey home at 9:30pm and made it back to our warm bed at 6:30am. Why did it take us so long to get home? Chelsie's bum hurt so bad from sitting on the motorcycle for so long that she made Robert stop every 15 miles. NO LIE I wanted to cry because my tailbone hurt so bad. We drove towards the worst lighting storm we had ever seen. The lighting was touching the ground every 10 seconds it was sooooooooooo stickin scary to be on a motorcycle exposed to it. Thanks to our prayers, it parted and we were able to drive though it.

After this little journey we've decided we will wait til we retire and we'll buy a real Harley with a big bum seat for me:)

Camping, Summerfest, nothing

The second week in June we went camping with the Brown family at our cabin. We went on lots of 4-wheeler rides on the 1 warm day we had and enjoyed each others company indoors the rest of the time because of the weather.

The third week in June, I spend endless hours getting ready for the SummerFest!!! This was the night before making sure everything looked saleable:) I had a blast and it was the most amazing feeling to see the way people reacted to my work. I want to thank my amazing husband for the countless hours he spent helping me with the whole project, to my parents for helping design and build the frames and the many, many, many hours of babysitting, to my sister Audrie for babysitting and helping me with all the magnets, grandpa and grandma Brown for babysitting Payton, and Stu for letting me share the booth with him! And I want to thank all my friends and family that came and supported me even in the rain. You guys all ROCK!

And now this is the fourth week in June and I get to do nothing but, sit and do NOTHING:)

First tooth and a puppy

MEMORIAL DAY WEEKEND

BEAR LAKE

this year we had a Pirate theme!

My parents put together a big Treasure Hunt for us all. We had to hike up hills, 4-wheeler around the mountains, cross the lake, drive several miles, and dig for our treasure. We had 6 "mini" treasures that we found that gave us more clues to our "big" treasure. This picture is of us after we found our first treasure by 4-wheelers and digging. The whole hunt took us around 12 hours!

Our final treasure was a treasure chest full of Gold and Silver! (Sacajawea dollars and jewelry)

This is how Payton looked the entire 4-day weekend! He made sure he was ready for 4-wheeler rides AT ALL times.

All the kids got to make marshmallow shooters! Most of them kept eating their ammo. (Kylie especially)

Trying something new...AGAIN...

Baby Animal Days. Next year we won't take Payton when he's not feeling good. He didn't get a nap and wanted to sit in the stroller and sleep the whole time. When we got home he had a small fever of 104.8....SCARY...poor boy was on fire, it took a couple hours for the fever to come down to 102.8. then luckily Easter morning it was only at 99.0. On the bright side, he cuddled the whole night:)

As soon as I'd seen this done, I thought to myself "Where can I get some foam? When I am going into town next? Where should I put the pictures? How soon can I do a photo shoot of my cute boys?" So...I did it! And it adds just the right amount of "class" in my bedroom that I was going for.

I was going to do this for GNO some month but after doing it myself I've decided that is not a good idea.
REASON #1. $ the cost would be more than $5 ($4 for foam w/ 50% off coupon, $4 for modge podge with another 50% off coupon, $10 for pictures, $2 for ribbon, and a little $ for hot glue gun, paint brushes and other stuff)
REASON #2. This takes up a lot of room to do and I wouldn't have room for + or - 10 girls.
REASON #3. Modge Podge is MESSY!!! I didn't want it in my living room with + or - 10 girls.
REASON #4 Cutting the foam was a fun adventure and I WON'T do it for anybody...
REASON for REASON #4 I CAN'T cut straight!
REASON #5 I wasn't about to pick out ribbon for + or - 10 girls.
REASON #6 I only buy $8 foam when I have a 40% or 50% off coupon and I didn't want to come up with + or - 10 of them to buy the foam.
REASON #7 I JUST DON'T WANT TO!!!

So, for any of you girls that want to do this...I'd love to explain how I did it...and I wish you the best of luck!!!

My sister-in-law Sherrie taught me how to make these. They are way fun and easy to do. I did this for my friend's shower gift. I'm just a little proud of myself...that's why I posted this for you all to see.

If you notice, there are two binki's on this cake. I had to make sure they were still there when I took this picture and when I gave it to her. Payton was being a little binki thief. He wouldn't put them in his mouth, he would just get caught binki handed.
